Mirror Image vs Normal Image, PAL vs NTSC and Parking Lines Explained
A simple guide to rear camera image direction, PAL vs NTSC formats and parking line settings for vehicle camera buyers.

Mirror image and normal image
Mirror image flips the video horizontally so the rear view looks like a car mirror. It is normally used for reversing cameras.
Normal image is not flipped and is more suitable for front cameras, some side cameras and recording applications where natural direction is needed.
PAL vs NTSC
PAL and NTSC are video format standards. Many modern AHD monitors can handle both, but older screens may only support one format.
For international orders, confirm the target market requirement and monitor compatibility before choosing the format.
Parking lines
Parking lines help drivers estimate distance while reversing. Some cameras allow parking lines to be enabled or disabled by a control wire.
For OEM projects, confirm whether your market wants parking lines, no parking lines, mirror image or normal image as the default setting.
